Every June, Filipino communities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) come together through festivals and events as they celebrate Filipino Heritage Month.
For many attendees, the festivals provide a sense of belonging and connection.
Toronto resident Julian Cuenca said being surrounded by fellow Filipinos creates “the feeling of being at home.”
“Through the food, music, and the joy that Filipinos bring, it makes me feel connected to my culture,” Cuenca said.
He added that Filipino food is one of the biggest reasons he continues to attend events.
“I enjoy the food more; as a working chef, it gives me the sense of pride coming from a country like the Philippines and having so many cultural dishes.”

Here are the top Filipino events to attend during Filipino Heritage Month:
June 6-7: Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto

One of the GTA’s longest-running Filipino festivals, Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto returns to Albert Campbell Square in Scarborough on June 6 and 7, 2026.
Hosted by the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation, the event combines Filipino food, cultural performances, community organizations, and local businesses in a large-scale celebration that attracts thousands of attendees annually.
The festival has become a staple tradition for many Filipino families across the GTA, especially during Filipino Heritage Month and Philippine Independence celebrations.

June 7: 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration

The 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration, organized by the Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians, takes place on June 7, 2026 at the MFFC Centre in Markham.
The event celebrates Filipino heritage, history, and community pride through cultural performances, food, music, and community activities.
The celebration highlights the importance of remembering Filipino history while creating opportunities for younger Filipino Canadians to stay connected to their roots through music, performances, and cultural showcases.
Like many Filipino Heritage Month events across the GTA, the celebration also serves as a gathering space for families, newcomers, and longtime community members to come together and celebrate Filipino identity in Canada.

June 19-21: Fiesta Extravaganza Toronto
Fiesta Extravaganza takes place from June 19 to 21, 2026 at the 1250 Event Centre in Scarborough.
The festival showcases Filipino culture through live entertainment, traditional dances, food vendors, games, and family-friendly programming.
Organizers describe the festival as a celebration of Filipino heritage that also promotes multicultural awareness and appreciation across Canada.
Fiesta Extravaganza has expanded across multiple Canadian cities over the years and continues to draw both Filipino and non-Filipino attendees looking to experience Filipino hospitality and culture.

July 3-5: Fun Philippines Toronto Food and Music Festival

Hosted at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre from July 3 to 5, Fun Philippines Toronto Food and Music Festival brings together Filipino food, live entertainment, nightlife-inspired experiences, and cultural showcases in one of the city’s busiest summer destinations.
This year’s festival theme, “The Philippines Shared with the World,” focuses on modern Filipino identity and global Filipino creativity.
According to organizer Teresa Torralba, attendees can expect immersive cultural programming, expanded entertainment, and interactive experiences designed to showcase both traditional and contemporary Filipino culture.
“Fun Philippines is not just about celebrating heritage — it’s about creating connection, pride, and unforgettable memories for everyone who attends,” Torralba said.
She added that what makes the festival unique is its location at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre, allowing Filipino culture to be showcased on one of Canada’s premier multicultural stages.
